Les Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux

The Carrières de Lumières, formerly known as the Cathedrale of Image, opened its new dazzling show on March 8th. I was lucky to attend the opening night on March 6th and felt this was their best show so far...

Monet, Renoir... Chagall. Journeys in the mediterranean. Is the title of this new amazing program.

100 projectors are reflecting Art on the wall (up to 14 meters high) of this former enclosed quarry on 5 000 m² (about 50 000 sq ft). The sound is perfect (I loved the music) and the sensation can be sometimes be a little "out of this world".

The show, lasting 35mn, will get to you through :
- A prologue in Marseille
- The Impressionism
- The lights of Mediterranean
- The Fauve
- Pierre Bonnard
- Raoul Duffy
- Marc Chagall
16 differents artists (the one mentionned plus Monet, Renoir, "local" Joseph Vernet, Cross, Signac, Camoin, Derain, De Vlaminck, Friesz, Manguin, Marquet, Valtat & Matisse) are "exhibited".
